Natural Caterpillar Control without Compromise

Certis Biologicals offers the broadest portfolio of Bt biolarvicides on the market, providing potent, broad-spectrum control of lepidopterous larvae.

Bt biolarvicides feature beneficial bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), which are the most widely used of the known biological pesticides. Each Bt cell produces unique crystalline proteins called Cry toxins, which attacks the gut cells of caterpillar larvae, causing death when ingested.

Our portfolio of Bts features 4 products, each uniquely formulated and proven to offer optimum control of worms across varying crops. Their unique and highly specific modes of action make them a valuable tool for resistance management, as there is no cross resistance reported between Bt and any other chemical insecticides. Bts are also highly specific towards lepidoptera larvae, with no adverse impact on predatory mites or insects - including bees or other pollinators. This makes them an ideal solution for easy incorporation into Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

Resistance Management: A Critical Role for Biopesticides

Biopesticides are becoming critical components of resistance management programs due to their ability to combat pests that have become resistant to conventional pesticides. Benefits include:

  • Multiple modes of action
  • Exempt from EPA residue tolerance requirement
  • Lower risks present fewer restrictions
  • No known cross-resistance between chemical and biological pesticides
